GetSocial.nyc didn’t start with a business plan or a pitch deck. It started in 2000 with two kids from the outer boroughs who could throw parties.
Nacer and John Nova have spent 25 years building one of NYC’s deepest networks in nightlife and hospitality. From the first after-prom bookings at Nacer’s high school to co-hosting New Year’s Eve events across the city’s most iconic venues, they’ve worked every angle of this industry: promoting, managing, producing, running their own venue, and building the relationships that make GetSocial.nyc work today.
The press called them “The Digital Nightlife Kings.” Clients call them when they need a venue and don’t want to deal with the noise.
The Road to GetSocial
GetSocial.nyc is the product of everything they learned over 25 years of doing this the hard way.
They started as promoters. Worked every front-of-house role. Fought for partnerships. Built a seasonal event operation (nycnewyears.com, nychalloweenparties.com, fourthofjulyparties.com, afterpromcentral.com) that’s been running since 2004. Opened and operated their own venue for four years, which taught them more about private events than any amount of promoting ever could.
Running a venue showed them exactly what clients go through when they’re trying to book a private event. The confusing pricing. The venues that don’t return calls. The gap between what a place looks like on Instagram and what it delivers on event night. They saw it from both sides of the bar, and they realized the thing most people need isn’t another venue listing website. It’s a person who actually knows this industry and will give them a straight answer.
That’s what GetSocial is. All the relationships, all the pricing knowledge, all the instinct for which rooms work for which events, packaged into a concierge service that costs clients nothing. Half the time they do this for the fun of it, not the money. They genuinely like connecting people with the right venue and watching a great event come together.
How We Actually Work
There’s no intake form with 40 questions. There’s no “discovery call” scheduled three weeks out. You tell us what kind of party or event you’ve imagined, what your target budget looks like, and we put together custom options built around all of that. You’re getting an insider’s lane to NYC’s best venues for no upfront cost.
We work with a curated group of venue operators across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. People we trust to deliver a good product and a good experience. We’re not trying to partner with every venue in the city. We keep our network tight so we can vouch for every recommendation we make. When you book through us, you’re booking somewhere we’d send our own friends.
For premium and high-end venues, the dynamic shifts. At that level, you’re paying to play and the venue runs its own show. We’ll still guide you, review the contract, and make sure you know what you’re getting into, but the handholding is different when you’re talking about a $15,000 buyout at a marquee space.
What Drives This
We’ve been producing events in New York City since 2000. We’ve seen venues open and close. We’ve watched trends come and go. We’ve worked with clients planning their first birthday party and clients producing their tenth corporate gala. Through all of it, the thing that keeps us going is simple: we like making sure people have a great time without getting ripped off or stressed out in the process.
The nightlife industry can be opaque, overpriced, and frustrating to navigate from the outside. We think it shouldn’t be. One text, one call, and you’ve got two guys in your corner who’ve been inside these venues for a quarter century. That’s the whole pitch.
